Knit One Skein Rats
Your own Knit Rat for Halloween.
Making stuff for Halloween does not have to be complicated. These knit Rats can be make in a matter of hours from only 1 Skein.
If Halloween is not you thing, then these can be made up as cute knit toys. If it is for a cat, you can stuff it with some cat nip and they will go mad for this. You can change the colour of their eyes to get a different effect.
As we found out, our granddaughter just loved them. We made them in black and some in gray.
Depending on the size of you ball of yarn, you can make two of these creepy little rodents.
Difficulty: Intermediate
Needle Size: 6 or 4 mm, Double-Pointed Knitting Needles (DPNs)
Yarn Weight: (4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)
MATERIALS:
- Lily® Sugar’n Cream® (70.9 g/2.5 oz; 109 m/120 yds) 00002 (Black) 1 ball Note: 1 ball makes 2 Rats.
- Size 4 mm (U.S. 6) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge.
- Pair of size 4 mm (U.S. 6) double-pointed knitting needles. Stuffing.
- Black pipe cleaner. Small red beads.
GAUGE: 21 sts and 28 rows = 4″ [10 cm] in stocking st.
