Crochet Baby Blanket for Beginners

 Simple Crochet Baby Blanket

While this Afghan would look great draped over a chair in the baby’s room, its best use would be to keep your baby warm or a great play mat or sleeping mat in their crib.

This blanket is very soft and almost spongy like, so would be a great mat.  It is a good size, so it is not quickly outgrown.

This is a very quick pattern as it is crocheted using three strands of bulky yarn. Because this is a blanket and not a fitted garment, the pattern is very forgiving as size does not matter.

The finished size is 34 inches by 30 inches, but you can increase this to whatever size you desire.

Crochet Hook: S-35 or 19.00 mm

Yarn: 3 Skeins each of 3 colours, so 9 skeins in all

Other: Tapestry needle for weaving in the ends.

GAUGE:  6 single crochet and 6 rows in a 4″x4″ area using three strands together with yarn and hook specified.
